ICBC has recently updated its policies to improve access to treatment options for individuals involved in auto accidents. This update includes coverage for a range of healthcare practitioners, such as physiotherapists, chiropractors, massage therapists, and more. The policy changes apply to all claims—both existing and new—including those approved before April 1. This means that even if your claim was approved before this date, you can still benefit from the updated coverage for your remaining treatments.

Steps to Recovery:

1. File a Claim with ICBC: The first step is to report your accident to ICBC. You can do this by calling 604-520-8222 or using their online claims process. Once your claim is processed, you will receive an insurance claim number, which is essential for accessing treatment benefits such as physiotherapy, chiropractic care, and massage therapy.

2. Consult with Physiozone: After obtaining your ICBC claim number, contact Physiozone to schedule an appointment. We are open every day and accept walk-ins, but you can also call 778-771-4134 or email [email protected] to set up a consultation. Bring your ICBC claim number, your full name, and the date of the accident. Our healthcare professionals will assess your condition, discuss your treatment options, and create a personalized recovery plan. If you haven’t yet seen a medical doctor, we can refer you to one. Note that treatment should begin within 12 weeks of the accident; otherwise, you will need permission from an ICBC claims adjuster to start treatment.

3. Begin Your Rehabilitation: ICBC covers treatment costs for the first 12 weeks of recovery. If additional treatment sessions are needed beyond this period, our team will work with your ICBC claims adjuster to seek approval for further coverage. We are dedicated to ensuring you receive the care you need to recover fully.
